Rare event for Montana, four beer geeks in the same place at the same time. The place was The Rhino (one of the best craft beer bars in the state). The geeks were Ryan Newhouse of Drink It Missoula, Alan of Growler Fills, and Curtis of Montana Beers. We had a great time talking great beer and breweries, and the state of beer culture in Montana. On Tuesdays, the Rhino has $1.50 7 oz. samplers, perfect for a little tasting. I manage to have a couple of lackluster brews, but the 2011 Abyss for Deschutes Brewery was the shining star of the evening. A raving review of the Abyss will be the next post. The most exciting news for the 4 of us is that we will all participating in the 2011 Montana Beers Awards, which will be hosted on Growler Fills.
