The nights are coming earlier and earlier, and sometimes a fella needs a beer that warms the spirit. Well as luck would have it, Milk Stout from Widmer Brothers perfectly fits the bill. The beer was truly a mystery as it isn’t even lister on Widmer’s website, but the hell with it, this Milk Stout is incredibly smooth and approachable.

Lots of mystery here…no one seems to know…yet.

Widmer Brothers Milk Stout Notes
Appearance: Imagine that a stout that is opaque black with a dark tan head…I’m so shocked.  (read as tongue formly planted in cheek).
Aroma: Roasted malt and chocolate dominate the nose. There is a subtle hop floral note in the background.
Mouthfeel: Incredibly smooth with a touch of  velvet across the tongue.
Taste: This is where the milky sweetness comes through in spades. This milk stout is something like a chocolate milk for big fellas.
Overall: Truly a great milk stout. It highly drinkable and smooth. Unlike many milk stouts, there is nothing overwhelming about this beer. Hats off to the Widmer Brothers.
